Thanks for all the support to MAKE A WISH, both backers who supported the fundraising campaign on KickStarters, and people who shared their New Year’s resolution with me on the project website! I am so happy that I have received “wishes” from around different places. I have to admit that, I didn’t put enough time to prepare the project, and think it all throughly. The result was pretty amazing, and I have learnt alot through the process.
Thanks again for all the support! I hope people will enjoy these little gifts I prepared for them.
A Special Saturday, January 12th, 2013.
When I woke up in the morning, I wanted it to be Sunday the 13th. So many happenings today that made me both excited and anxious. It was the closing reception of my show, MAKE A WISH, and the opening of the 10-Year Anniversary show at Root Division + VIP reception (yeah it’s also my first open studio at RD).
I was totally exhausted after the night (seriously, I slept 30 hours through sunday. Woke up twice for lunch and dinner only, that’s it!) But when I think about the day again, i just feel so grateful to have all the support from friends and Root Division fellows. It named a great start for the year of 2013!
MOVING IN!!!!
I’m thrilled to share this exciting news! I’ve been selected by the Root Division Selection Committee for the 2013 artist residency! I’m sharing a studio with Bay Area artist, Lindsay Stripling, and we will be hosting an open studio during the 10-year anniversary celebration reception on Jan 12th. Come check out my studio while it’s still clean! :)
One of the pieces from my series Here, There and Everywhere is included in the Kala Artists’ Annual Exhibition. The work will be on view from December 13, 2012 - February 2, 2013, be sure to check it out at Kala Institute if you’re around Berkeley.

Time for some Christmas Toys!
Root Division is hosting a one-night artmaking event, The Misfit Toy Factory, that features over 40 Bay Area artists making sculptures, toys, and small works onsite in the gallery space in Mission. I’ll be making seasonal costumes for the Sonny Angels, similar to the work in my # little sonny projects.
Come join us at this fun event on Saturday, December 8th, 6-10:30pm! All works will be available for sale at $40 each.

Thanks for the support from many friends, MAKE A WISH, has been pledged $421. It was a pretty good result, but I am still $379 short to get the fund from Kickstarter.

For my upcoming show during Christmas and New Year, i’ve put together a collective art project that invite everyone to share their ambitions in 2013 and receive a custom made button with their words on it.

Only few more weeks before the Root Division 11th Art Auction. I’ve finally decided which pieces I’m wanna give to the gallery for this amazing fundraising event.

The last month my focus was totally on writing, about films. The course is to learn the art of film, and it changes me in so many ways to appreciate a movie. Revisited some of the classics and my favorite, and they are so great!
Another great things i discovered, i really like writing. I’m not good at it, but I really enjoy it!
I’m so glad to see many of my friends came to the opening reception, and left encouraging message on the guestbook. School has finally came to an end, but exciting things just begin to happen! Something tecky, something crafty, something really fun!
One of my painting (I’m still deciding which one) will be included in the Root Division’s 11th Annual Art Auction!

I’ve been busy final touching all the paintings, and framing the work. The piece I’ve worked for about a year has finally came together!

18 months of study is coming to an end, and I’m be finishing the post-bac program at UC Berkeley Extension very soon. To summarize what I have achieved this period (actually I see it more as a celebration to graduation =P), I AM GOING TO HAVE A MINI SHOW !!!
It is a week-long mini show at the UC Berkeley Extension Art & Design Center in downtown San Francisco, from August 17 - 23, 2012. The opening reception is Saturday August 18th. Please come and join me to celebrate before I dive into the job searching adventure!
